The Ascot Grey comes in a 7-9 mm thickness, making it a thick slate ideal for use in the North of Scotland.
The Ascot Grey slate boasts a strong textured face with heavily dressed edges in a characteristic light grey colour. Once on the roof the slate looks fantastic whilst protecting your home from the elements for a life time.

These are Ascot Grey first grade slates and should offer a better selection than standard grade slates yet they always require effective sorting and grading prior to fixing. A well selected natural slate roof with first grade grade slates that have been properly graded and sorted on site will have an even appearance which it will maintain over many decades.

Test results
The Ascot Grey slate boasts a W-1, T-1, S-1 rating, meaning it conforms and surpasses all the top UK tests for water absorption, thermal cycle resistance and sulphur dioxide exposure.

As you are choosing a natural product it is recommended to allow a 10% surplus when ordering your slates. This accounts for cutting, breakages and natural irregularities. This precaution ensures full coverage, consistency in appearance and will help prevent delays during the fitting process.
