The VELUX base unit is the insulated foundation of a flat roof window system. It forms the upstand and internal frame, helping improve thermal performance and providing a clean, professional finish inside the room.
Choose between a fixed base unit for simple daylighting, or an electrically operated base unit when you want added ventilation at the touch of a button. Both options are designed to pair with compatible VELUX top covers for a complete flat roof window solution.
Electrically Operated Base Unit
Ideal when you want fresh air as well as daylight. An electrically operated base unit lets you open and close the window easily, making it a great choice for kitchens, bathrooms and high-ceiling spaces.
Fixed Base Unit
A straightforward option for bringing more natural light into your room. Fixed base units are perfect for spaces where ventilation is not required, or where you are using other ventilation solutions.
